Judith Woodsworth is Professor of translation and translation studies in the French Studies Department at Concordia University (Montreal). She has translated two novels, Still Lives by Pierre Nepveu and Hutchison Street by Abla Farhoud. She is most noted for Translators through History (with Jean Delisle), which has been translated into several languages. She has recently published the monograph Telling the Story of Translation: Writers Who Translate (Bloomsbury, 2017) and the edited volume The Fictions of Translation (John Benjamins, 2018). She was founding president of the Canadian Association for Translation Studies, of which she is currently an honorary member. She holds a PhD in French literature from McGill, and has worked on French literature, literary translation, and translation history.
Judith Woodsworth est professeure de traduction et de traductologie au Département d’études françaises de l’Université Concordia. Elle a traduit deux romans du français vers l’anglais, Still Lives de Pierre Nepveu et Hutchison Street d’Abla Farhoud. En codirection avec Jean Delisle, elle a fait paraître Les traducteurs dans l’histoire / Translators through History, ouvrage qui a été traduit dans plusieurs langues. Dernièrement, elle a publié Telling the Story of Translation: Writers Who Translate (Bloomsbury, 2017), ainsi que l’ouvrage collectif The Fictions of Translation (John Benjamins, 2018). Elle était présidente fondatrice de l’Association canadienne de traductologie, dont elle est membre honoraire. Elle détient un doctorat en littérature française de l’Université McGill, et poursuit des recherches dans les domaines de la littérature française, de la traduction littéraire et de l’histoire de la traduction.
