Plus 10 degrees, snow showers – crazy weather expected this weekend

We have to prepare for the sunshine and snow showers on the weekend, but cooling is not expected, in some cases, we can measure an extra 10 degrees – according to the National Meteorological Service’s national medium-term forecast.

There will be more sunshine on Friday morning, but thicker clouds will come from the north again in the afternoon. There will be scattered showers during the day, but snow showers may be more common at the north-eastern border. The wind will be strong over a large area, and there may even be windstorms in many places.

On Friday, the lowest temperatures are usually between minus 2 and plus 3 degrees Celsius, but in the less cloudy, frosty northeast, it can be colder at dawn. The highest temperatures are usually likely to be between 7 and 9 degrees Celsius, but it may be a few degrees colder than the northeast. At the same time, the temperature in Transdanubia can rise to 10 degrees in some places.

No significant rainfall is expected until Saturday morning. From the afternoon, precipitation is expected to be sporadic, mainly in the northern, north-eastern half of the country. The snow can be replaced by more and more snowfall from the west. The wind is getting stronger in some places. The minimum temperature is mostly between minus 5 and plus 1 degree, but it can be colder in less cloudy, windless, frosty landscapes. Maximum temperatures are usually expected to be between 3 and 7 degrees but may be below the northeast limit.

On Sunday, the sun can go out for several hours in much of the country. In the first half of the day, it will be sporadic, then only in some places it is likely to rain, but in the north-eastern counties and in the mountains it can be expected to snow. In large areas, the wind can increase. Temperatures are expected to be minus 3 and plus 4 degrees during the coldest hours. Peak values ​​will be between 4 and 12 degrees, with colder weather in the northeast and milder weather in the southwest, according to the forecast.
