Fully 117 Covid patients, mostly elderly with an underlying illness, have died over the past 24 hours, while there were 3,929 newly registered coronavirus cases, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.
Since the first outbreak in the spring, 181,881 people have been officially diagnosed with the virus and 4,008 fatalities, while 44,020 people have made a recovery. Altogether there are 133,853 active infections, while 7,598 Covid patients are hospitalised, 638 on ventilators. Fully 41,557 people are in official home quarantine, and the number of tests carried out stands at 1,528,302. So far most infections have been registered in Budapest (41,741) and Pest County (23,873), followed by the counties of Győr-Moson-Sopron (12,410), Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén (10,744), Hajdú-Bihar (9,571) and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties (9,449). Tolna County has the least number of infections (2,565).
