Debrecen welcomes the further expansion of Hungarian-American economic relations – said Lajos Kósa, mayor of Debrecen.
A conference was organized by the Xanga Investment & Development Group this morning where Lajos Kósa and associates of the Budapest Embassy of the United States have discussed the further expansion of Hungarian-American economic relations.
Kósa says that the presence of American companies is significant in Debrecen, mostly the presence of National Instruments, which has more than 1300 employees in the city. According to the mayor, besides the European Union, the United States of America is the most important ally of Hungary.
André M. Goodfriend, ambassador’s deputy of the Budapest Embassy of the United States, declared that such American companies as National Instruments had come to Debrecen because of the highly qualified professionals and because of the city’s geographical position.
Goodfriend and the other associates have visited the industrial site on Határ Út, the renewed Nagyerdő, the Debrecen Airport and they have also met the leaders of the University of Debrecen.
